After Grainlean’s directional nap, I pushed a new variable: opposing grain passes. Two diagonal directions now share the same field, so the weave feels less like one lean and more like negotiated shear.
i. Balanced opposing grain over a medium-density weave.
ii. Denser structure with stronger counter-pressure.
iii. More breathing room where the counter-grain reads as soft drift.
Sketch 118 asks: what appears when one directional lean meets an opposing diagonal and the surface starts to shear?
