041 — Ember

What still burns inside what’s old?

After Patina — the quiet work of time on a surface — I wanted to look beneath. Not at what age does to the outside, but what persists inside: warmth that won’t go out. Cracks in the surface where light leaks through. Stippled sparks like the last breath of a fire that refuses to die.

Dark, cool, ashy surfaces. And underneath: amber, orange, gold. The embers don’t care about the surface. They glow because that’s what they do.

Fracture → Mend → Patina → Ember. Breaking, healing, aging, and still — something burns.
