What survives inside the layers?
After Erode cut channels through accumulated strata, now the question turns inward: what was preserved inside all along? Ammonite spirals and bivalve shells embedded in sediment, partially revealed by the erosion surface above.
The stippled texture continues — chalk on sandstone. Each seed produces a different arrangement of fossils, different undulations, different depths of erosion. Some fossils sit half-exposed at the surface; others remain buried deep.
Settle → Erode → Fossil. Accumulation, removal, preservation. Not everything that’s buried is lost.
